Career Righting

Hello To All

by Sue Leo Fitzgerald

The blog’s called career righting.  That’s because I like to write (notice the play on words) and know at least a couple of things about careers and how they can get “upended” when you least expect it.  And that it takes a great deal of energy to rebalance the work/life/financial load when that happens.  I enjoy an overused metaphor now and then so I went with a nautical one.  Think ships…  navigating in murky waters, charting a new course, a journey to new lands.  Yada, yada.

OK, nautical metaphor aside, I chat with a lot of people about careers- sometimes the lack of one.  It is tough to figure out the best approach for taking charge of your career.  There are many opinions but few qualified job leads.

My hope here is to share what works, what doesn’t, practical advice, crazy ideas that are worth a try and stories from people who have recently succeeded on “the journey.”

Just getting started here, so check back soon for upcoming posts!
